Toll collection at Surathkal from private vehicles with KA19 registration: MLA & MP to stage a protest

July 15: It is decided that toll will be collected at Surathkal from private four wheelers with KA19 registration from July 16.
Mangalore North BJP Mandala General Secretary Ashok Krishnapura has opposed collection of toll from private cars with KA 19 registration. While speaking to the reporters he stated that under the leadership of Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel and Mangalore City North MLA Dr Bharath Shetty, a protest will be staged against the toll collection. he mentioned that the public and officials are being misled by the contractor is misleading by claiming loss from toll exemption granted to the locally registered vehicles.
He stated that the district administration should ensure that local vehicles are exempted from paying toll. If the district administration and NHAI fail to continue the exemption, a protest will be staged by the BJP unit of Mangalore North, Mulki and Moodbidri.
A corner meeting will be organised at Surathkal Junction on Monday at 6.30 pm to create awareness in this regard and a protest will be staged in front of toll plaza on July 16.
