The Udupi district administration has banned tourists from entering St. Mary’s Island for four months, from May 15 to September 15. The decision has been taken in view of the monsoon. In addition, all water sports activities on the district’s beaches have been suspended during the period as the sea will be rough. Tourists have been allowed to enter the sea waters on the beaches until this month-end.

The ban has been imposed under the Harbour Craft Rules.
