Traffic Congestion at Nanthoor Circle: Mayor Sudheer Shetty to Discuss The Issue With Mangalore Traffic Police
Mayor Sudheer Shetty Kannur said during his first phone-in programme which resumed after nearly five years, received 23 calls. The mayor informed that all complaints received during the phone-in programme will be addressed and the status will be followed up in the next programme.
The mojor issure which was discussed in the traffic conjestion at Nanthoor circle. The mayor said he will hold a discussion with the Mangalore city traffic police officials, regarding the traffic bottleneck at Nanthoor Junction in the city. He would check with the city traffic police about the non-functioning of traffic signals at the junction, which is an intersection of three national highways. He said “I have no idea why the city traffic police have not been using the traffic signals at the junction. The city corporation has already made provisions for the traffic signal systems,”.
The phone-in programme also received responses from people on various issues pertaining to bad roads, unscientific cutting of roads, street vendors encroaching upon roads and footpaths
