Trekking Banned in Kumaraparvatha Near Subramanya From February 1
The Forest Department has banned trekking in Kumaraparvatha behind the Kukke Sri Subrahmanya Temple from February 1. The order banning trekking from February 1 till October or until further orders, has been issued in the interests of the trekkers due to shortage of wwater.
The trekking period in Kumaraparvatha this year has ended. Moreover the grass in the hill has completely dried up and there is a need to be cautious to prevent fires. There is difficulty in providing drinking water as well as water for lavatory facilities in Girigadde where trekkers usually stay, forest officials said.
