Tunnel construction leading to damage of houses: Complaint filed

Ongoing tunnel construction work by Railway department at Sirlapadpu in Alape ward has led to damage in the walls of the houses in that area. A delegation headed by former Corporator Prakash complaned to DC Sasikanth Senthil in this matter. The members told that many houses in that area have developed cracks in the walls due to the machine used for construction of the tunnel.
Activists Regina Lobo told DC that locals experienced mild tremors which damaged the doors and the windows of the area in the area. (JD)S leader Sushil Noronha has demanded that the railways bear the expenses for the damaged caused. A detailed report on this matter will be submitted to the DC soon and damages if any will be assessed only after the report is out.
A public relation officer admitted to the issue and said that the railways will compensate for the damage and undertake the repair work.
