Mangalore City South MLA D Vedavyas Kamath said that discussions in this regard have already been held, and a detailed project report will be prepared by the Mangalore Smart City Limited (MSCL).

The MLA said that government has been giving emphasis to sports activities, and to the development infrastructure required for it,separate stadiums will be built for kabaddi and wrestling, on land reserved for sports activities, near the Nehru Maidan in the city. Apart from officials of the MSCL and MCC, discussions were also held with various stakeholders, including office-bearers of kabaddi and wrestling associations, towards the same,” he said.

The land where the stadiums are proposed, was earlier earmarked for temporary stalls of vendors. A foundation stone for the construction of a building was also laid.
