Two Young Cyclists Completed 3,500km Cycling Expedition From Kudla to Kashmir

Two young adventure enthusiasts, recently completed their 3,500km cycling expedition, ‘Saarthakam 2022’ with the taglines, ‘Life is a gift, pass it on’ and ‘Go green before green goes’, from Belthangady in Dakshina Kannada to Srinagar and Gulmarg in Kashmir. Cyclists Jagadeesh Kulal,24, and Shrinidhi Shetty,26, held about 20 gatherings across the country, and spread the message of organ donation and environmental conservation.

The expedition is part of the outreach activity of the city-based NGO, Centre for Integrated Learning, and traversed through over 10 states. The cyclists are both production officers at Asian Paints, Mysuru, and have experience cycling in different terrain, including the high-altitude Himalayan expedition.

Starting on October 1 from Belthangady, they passed through Hubballi, Belagavi to enter Maharashtra. They also braved riding in the hot Sun in Gujarat, followed by a ride through scenic places in Rajasthan. They wound up the expedition at Gulmarg on October 28 after displaying the Tulunadu Flag at Srinagar’s Lal Chowk. Riding an average 150 km a day between 4 a.m. and noon and spreading awareness, they also held meet-ups with people in the evenings for the purpose.
