Udupi CMC Starts Issuing Green Business Entity Badges to Shops & Restaurants: Check Out

Udupi CMC has started issuing green business entity badges to shops and restaurants that did not use the single-use plastic in order to motivate more shopkeepers and restaurant owners to adhere to the ban, and thereby get the green business entity badge.

The Udupi CMC has been conducting inspections at various shops and restaurants in a rigorous manner, since the beginning of this month. The CMC has seized 262kg of single-use plastic in July so far, and made violators to cough up a penalty to the tune of Rs 54,500. The CMC has warned that traders who violate the single-use plastic ban will lose their license.
