Udupi Constituency: Among 12 contestants, Pramod Madhwaraj spends the highest for Loksabha polls

April 30: The expenditure limit for contestants during Loksabha Election was Rs 70 lakhs. Udupi-Chikmagaluru constituency has 12 candidates including candidates like MP Shobha karandlaje and Pramod Mahdwaraj. Out of these 12 candidates, Pramod Madhwaraj was the highest spender followed by Shobha Karandlaje. Pramod Madhwaraj spend a total amount of 35.4 lakhs while the report submitted by him showed an amount of 28.6 lakh, whereas Shobha karandlaje spend total amount of Rs 24.1 lakh the reports submitted by her showed amount of 19.2 lakh.
Both the candidates have been asked to explain a difference in the amount and if they fail to submit a convincing explanation, election officials will put the amount the observers have documented.
