Udupi DC Makes it Compulsory to Take Prior Permission Before Putting up Any Publicity Banners

Udupi District Deputy commissioner (DC) M Kurma Rao informed that prior permission should be taken from local bodies or gram panchayats to display any banners in public place. The DC mentioned that before displaying any sort of campaigning banners, hoardings or use of loud speakers in the district permission should be taken mandatorily as per the law by competent authority.

The equipment and hoardings used must be removed once the time period for the same is over. Even prior permission should be sought for any meetings, programmes or processions. Legal action will be taken against violators, he added.
