Vending Zones For Street Vendors Will Come Up Soon In Mangalore City: Click to Know

Mangalore city mayor Sudheer Shetty Kannur said that vending zones will come up for street vendors in the Mangalore City Corporation (MCC) limits.
Dakshina Kannada Beedibadi Vyaparasthara Cooperative Society in Mangalore was launched in Mangalore. The decision to start a cooperative society was taken to strengthen the street vendors economically. This is the first cooperative society of street vendors in the state, and it has been started with an investment made by street vendors themselves.

The mayor said that officials have been instructed to conduct ward-level surveys of street vendors and submit a report soon. Later, the MCC will identify land to build vending zones to enable street vendors to do business without inconveniencing the public. The vendors must also cooperate by doing business in only spaces identified by the MCC.
