Water crisis in Mangalore: Minister U T Khader meets Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy

May 28: District In-charge Minister U T Khader meets Chief minister H D Kumaraswamy regards the water crisis in Mangalore. He stressed on the need to impound water up to a height of seven metres in the Thumbe dam which is currently at a height of six metres.

Minister Khader said that an amount of Rs 130 crore is needed to compensate farmers owning 344 acres of land that will be submerged when the dam is raised to a height of seven metres. Chief minister H D Kumaraswamy has reportedly directed Minister U T Khader to submit a proposal on this immediately.
