Waves Lashing the Beaches in Udupi have turned Black! Click to Know How

August 14: The waves that are lashing the shores in Udupi Beaches are pitch black in colour. The water in Arabian Sea in the District has turned black.
The heavy rain that lashed the district has resulted in the black water at the sea. The sea gets rough during heavy rain due to which the length and ferocity of the waves increase. Because of this, water gets mixed up with the sand and the sea turns into black. This is more visible in areas of Padukere, Kodi Bengre, Gangolli and Padubidri.
Heavy rain has resulted in an increase in the amount of water that flows from the river into the sea and also brings in mud, decomposed leaves, trees, minerals and salinity with it. The colour of the sea water turns into black, when the muddy brown water from the rivers, mixes with the salt water of the sea.
