As many as 16 students who demanded that they be allowed to enter the classroom wearing the hijab at University college at Hampankatta were denied permission to enter the classroom on June 2, Thursday.

The students had earlier visited DC Rajendra on the same issue, but the DC had asked the girls to follow the rules of the college. They had not attended their classes in their college ever since the deputy commissioner had called for a meeting.
