Youth arrested for murdering a girl in Attavar: Click to know the reason

June 9: A girl found dead at a house in Attavar on Friday, June 07. The diseased has been identified as Anjana Vasista(22) daughter of Manjunatha Y N of Chikkamagaluru.
In a swift action, Mangalore city police arrested a youth on Saturday at Sindgi in Vijayapura district in connection with the murder. The arrested youth has been identified as Sandeep Rathod (22), son of Balu Rathod, a native of Benakotagi Tanda in Sindgi taluk.
Anjana had completed MSc at SDM College in Ujire and had come to Mangalore on the pretext of writing bank examinations on June 6. Anjana had come in contact with Rathod, a BA graduate through Facebook. Their friendship had later turned into love. On the pretext of training for sub-inspector exam, Rathod had come down to meet Anjana in Mangalore. On Friday at 9 am, Anjana had visited Sandeep in his rented room and had informed of her decision to marry another boy of her parents’ choice. They had an argument and Rathod strangulated her using a cable wire.
Rathod was arrested by a team of police led by Mangalore South Police Station PSI Rajendra.
