Youth from Bangalore drowns in Nethravati

April 27: A 28 year old youth who had come to Dakshina Kannada on a tour with three others from Bangalore drowned in Netravathi river in Uppinangady while taking bath. The deceased has been identified as Muniya Gowda, a resident of Hosakote, Bangalore.
The police said that the group after finishing their tour in Dakshina Kannada, was returning to Bangalore. They stopped a t Uppinangady to take bath. the group has seen some people playing in the in water and thought that the place in not dangerous. Muniya who was excited on seeing water , jumped into the river but never returned back. Expert divers later fished out his body. The incident took place on Thursday evening.
A case has been registered at Uppinangady Police station under unnatural causes for death.
