A bison rescued from a gobar gas pit attacks two women

May 5: A bison, which had accidentally fallen into a gobar gas pit at Kadabettu Parlottu near Vagga in Bantwal taluk, injured two women later. The wild bison had accidentally fallen into the gobar gas pit owned by Alfred D’Souza on Saturday morning. He informed the Forest Department officials who soon rushed to the spot and broke the pit to allow the bison come out of the pit.
The bison, while returning to the forest, attacked two women who were walking towards their grandmother’s house in Peramogru. The injured have been identified as Harshitha and her relative Kumari, residents of Peramogru near Mani. They have been admitted to a hospital in Mangalore.
