Citizens of Udupi District Will Receive E-Paper For Poll Awareness: Interesting Initiative

As part of its Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP),  the Udupi district administration, has started a flagship programme of the Election Commission of India for voter education, spreading voter awareness and promoting voter literacy is bringing out a four-page (tabloid) e-paper every day.

The Kannada e-paper titled ‘Election Patrike’, is brought out at 6pm every day and is currently reaching 75,000 people. This is an innovative attempt as part of SVEEP to spread awareness on the election, the process and how the electoral system has developed over the years. The edition will be brought out till the election process is completed.

The e-paper has only election-related content and articles from intellectuals will also be invited. Also, PU, diploma, and under-graduate students are all members of the Electoral Literacy Club, which have been set up in about 95 colleges. The nodal officers of these clubs are circulating the e-paper among students. Since almost all students use WhatsApp, we are reaching out to them.
