Fight for Customers near NMP Gate! Foreign tourists Interrupted!

In an incident which took place at New Mangalore Port, an autorikshaw driver & a taxi driver got into an argument over their vehicle parking and soon raised blows at each other.

In order to grab the attention of foreign tourist who exited the NMP looking for a budget friendly mode of transport to visit local sight seeing places, there was a fight between taxi drivers and auto drivers.

Sources at NMP stated the District Administration has top set up a taxi booth, either free or paid outside the gate, the way it is available outside the Mangalore International Airport.

Dr Uday Shetty, Tourism Department Assistant Director of the District mentioned that tender for pre-paid taxi booth outside the port gates was in process.  He stated that an information desk has been set up at the lounge to guide the tourist regarding the fares they will have to pay for various destinations.
