The last general body meeting chaired by Mayor Bhasker Moily witnessed cooperators trade barbs overdevelopment works implemented in the city.

Opposition BJP slammed the State government for not finalizing the reservation list for city corporation. The EC is yet to announce the election for MCC council since a petition challenging the ward reservation is ending in high court. Opposition leader Premananda Shetty said the State government would be responsible if the election of MCC council does not happen for next six months. He also blamed ythe congressthat none of the problems relating to the city were solved by the ruling party.

The outgoing mayor said he will be leaving the post with the satisfaction of expediting development projects.
