The Much Awaited Kite Festival is Back at Tannirbhavi Beach on January 18 & 19: Check Out

Mangalore city is gearing up for the ONGC MRPL International Kite Festival, set to take place at Tannirbhavi Beach on Jan 18 and 19. The event is  organised by Team Mangalore, a hobby group of kite flyers, and the district administration. Kite enthusiasts from around the globe, with at least 10 international teams and five national teams are expected to showcase their skills.

To mark the occasion, a unique and vibrant poster featuring artwork by artist and member of Team Mangalore, Dinesh Holla, has been created and released on social media. Artist Dinesh Holla revealed that the line artwork featured in the poster is one of his creations from an art exhibition held in France in 2014. The piece was purchased by a foreign national during the exhibition, and Team Mangalore decided to transform this artwork into the Mangalore Kite Festival poster.

It may be noted that for four consecutive times, the organisers of the International Dieppe Kite Festival in France were impressed by the poster designed by artist and environmentalist Dinesh Holla and selected it as the official poster for the festival.

Team Mangalore was founded by B Sarvesh Rao in 1998, and this year they have received invites to participate in various national and international kite festivals in India and abroad.
