Six Cities Likely Selected To Get US Support For Municipal Bonds: Is Mangalore One Of Them?

February 24: The US Treasury Department will likely sign a the Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) with six cities during President Trump’s two-day visit starting on February 24.
The US treasury department would be providing technical know-how to six selected cities, including five smart cities, where funds from bonds can be used in water supply and sewer projects.
Mangalore has been likely selected as one of the six cities to receive technical support from the US Department of Treasury to issue municipal bonds. Along with Mangalore, Mysuru, Rajkot, Vadodara, Lucknow, and Pimpri Chinchwad have also been selected by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and NITI Aayog for the technical cooperation with the US.
