The National Institute of Technology – Karnataka (NIT-K), Surathkal has retained its ranking, 17th in ‘engineering’ category and 54th in ‘overall’ category, in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) – 2025 rankings released by the Union Ministry of Education on Thursday. In a competitive landscape of IITs, NITs, and other premier institutes, NIT-K has reaffirmed its standing among the top 20 engineering institutions of the country.

The institute has undertaken several important initiatives in terms of faculty and staff recruitment, infrastructure development, administrative streamlining, and alumni engagement to strengthen its foundation for accelerating future progress.
