The monsoon season is likely to begin in coastal region by June 3, the Dakshina Kannada district administration has made preparations to deal with natural calamities such as flooding, flash floods, and other disaster situations, said Deputy Commissioner Darshan H.V.
The Deputy Commissioner said that 115 relief centres have been identified across the district. A total of Rs 3.25 crore has been made available at the tahsildar level across various taluks for emergency relief measures, and additional funds will be provided if required.
