Auto-rickshaw fares in Dakshina Kannada district have been revised, with the minimum fare for the first 1.5 km set at ₹40. The revised minimum fare will be applicable for up to three passengers.
As per the new fare structure, passengers will be charged ₹20 for every additional kilometre after the initial 1.5 km. This rate will also apply to a maximum of three passengers.
The first 10 minutes of waiting time will be free of charge. Beyond this period, passengers may be charged a waiting fee of ₹5 for every 15 minutes or part thereof.
During night hours, passengers can be charged 1.5 times the normal fare. The higher fare will be applicable between 10 pm and 5 am.
The revised fare structure will apply to both auto-rickshaw passengers and drivers. However, drivers will not be permitted to collect any amount over and above the prescribed fare.
