The Paryaya Puttige Mutt in Udupi has organised ‘Goodu Deepa’ competition on the occasion of Deepavali at Madhwangana on Krishna Mutt premises in Udupi on October 19 between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. The competition will be held in traditional and modern categories. The traditional ‘Goodu Deepa’ should be prepared at the spot. In the modern category, participants can make use of articles, which are accepted as per Mutt’s customs, to increase the beauty of ‘Goodu Deepas’.
Each team shall have a maximum of two participants. Time of three hours will be given for preparing Goodu Deepas. For each category, first, second, and third prizes will be given. In the traditional category, the first prize carries a prize amount of ₹5,000, followed by ₹3,000 and ₹2,000 for second and third prizes respectively. In the modern category, first three prizes carries prize amount of ₹8,000, ₹5,000 and ₹3,000.
All participating teams will receive Krishna prasadam and consolation prize amount.
