The India Meteorological Department (IMD), has forecast widespread rainfall in coastal region for the next few days owing to Cyclone Montha The IMD has issued a yellow alert for Uttara Kannada, Udupi, Dakshina Kannada and few other districts.
IMD stated that Cyclone Montha is likely to move north-northwest wards and intensify into a severe cyclonic storm by morning of October 28. Due to this, the coastal districts are likely to receive extensive rainfall till October 29. He added that rainfall in these districts is expected to continue till November 2.
