The Southern Railway will replace conventional ICF coaches of two weekly services, Train No. 16855/856 and 16857/858 on Puducherry-Mangalore Central-Puducherry route with Linke Hofmann Busch coaches (LHBs) shortly.
SR’s Palakkad Division said Train No. 16585 Puducherry-Mangalore Central Weekly Express via Salem would run with LHB coaches from July 17, Thursady, while its pairing Train No. 16586, Mangalore Central-Puducherry Weekly Express would run with LHB coaches from July 18, Friday.
Train No. 16587 Puducherry-Mangalore Central Weekly Express via Tiruchirapalli would get LHB coaches from July 19, Saturday while its pairing train, 16588 Mangalore Central-Puducherry Weekly Express would run with LHB coaches from July 20.
Consequent to the conversion into LHB coaches, the composition of these trains would be revised as one 2-tier AC, two 3-tier AC, nine sleeper class, four general second class, one second class-cum-luggage brake van and one generator car coaches.
