A model of Vande Bharat train made from different varieties of flowers will be displayed during the three-day horticultural and floricultural show which begins at Kadri Park here for the Republic Day on January 24. This has been organized by the Department of Horticulture, Kadri Park Development Committee and Siri Totagarike Sangha. The show will be open for people from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. till January 26. It will be inaugurated on January 23 at 4 p.m. However, people can visit the show on January 24 from 8 a.m. There will be an entry fee of ₹30 for each adult and ₹20 per head for children. There will be free entry for school children who come in uniform with their teacher.
The model of Vande Bharat train made from different varieties of flowers will be the main attraction of the flower show. The “flower train” with three bogies will be 24 ft. and the length of the track will be 30 ft. He said that 15,000 potted flower plants of 30 varieties will be displayed at the show. Some of them are Salvia, Chrysanthemum, Marigold, Zinnia, Dianthus, Aster, Vinca rosea, Cockscomb, Dahlia, Petunia, Torenia.
In addition, there will be a demonstration of a vegetable kitchen garden. Artistic carvings made from fruits and vegetables depicting the importance of the district and eminent personalities from various fields will be displayed. The show will feature display of various ornamental plants, bonsai plants, and Ikebana flower arrangements. There will be 100 stalls selling various value added products including that of honey.
The exhibition will showcase unique varieties of fruits, vegetables, plantation crops, spice crops grown by farmers, horticultural handicrafts, as well as bonsai, anthurium plants, and other attractive plants grown by the people.
