Consumers in Karnataka will have to pay more for their daily purchase of milk from April 1. The State government announced the increase in the price of Karnataka Milk Federation’s Nandini brand of milk as well as curd by ₹4 a litre from next month.
Revised prices of Nandini (existing prices in brackets) are: Toned (blue packet): ₹46 (₹42), Homogenised Toned: ₹47 (₹43), Green packet: ₹50 (₹46), Shubham (Special/Orange packet): ₹52 (₹48), and curd: ₹54 (₹50). The price of Nandini milk was hiked by ₹3 in July 2023, then by ₹2 in June 2024 (with an additional 50 ml per packet).
The hike was approved by the State Cabinet citing demand from farmers, following an increase in the cost of fodder and feed by 35%-40%.
